A rising star in the motorsport world, 2021 is tipped to be a big year for Anton De Pasquale. The 25-year-old Melbourne-born driver is a new addition to the championship-winning Shell V-Power Racing Team, competing alongside teammate Will Davison, and has so far claimed four pole positions, seven podiums and one race win this season.
Before taking his seat in the team’s No. 11 Ford Mustang GT, De Pasquale made his mark in Europe, where he won the Formula Renault 1.6 Championship in 2014 and competed in the Formula Renault 2.0 series. Returning Down Under, the young gun produced a series of impressive Supercars performances, securing his first race win in 2020.
We caught up with De Pasquale for a quick chat and asked him one thing we’ve been dying to know, “What do you keep in your glovebox?” Here’s what he said:
- Owner’s manual – comes with the car but rarely opened, I know plenty of good mechanics!
- Toothbrush and toothpaste – I picked up a travel pack from Shell Coles Express and always have it on hand when travelling.
- Mask and hand sanitiser – pretty standard essentials these days with COVID-19.
- Phone charger – I use my phone so much for work, it’s good to have a backup… nothing worse than the phone going flat midway through an interview.
- Marker pens – I always have a bunch of these on hand for autographs.
- Team Accreditation – for fast access to the race track.
- Shell Card… and of course, I only fill up with Shell V-Power.
